My First Album (Instrumental)

Many of us have no trouble becoming grounded in Christ. We hear the Word, excitement rushes through our veins, and we have the zeal to go and please God. Although this is a great sight to see, many of us have trouble STAYING grounded. Many factors contribute to this. Some believe it is their destiny to always sin and miss the mark. Some believe falling out of being Christ-like occasionally or rarely is normal. Some even believe it is impossible to be good in His eyes all the time, based on their fear of failing. His thoughts are not our thoughts, yet we let our thoughts become Lord when we are going through our trials. We say we “believe” but a more accurate word would be to say we “agree” with what God says. Agreement is a very good thing, but it does not possess the power of belief. Belief transfers into insight, and insight leads into the things God has in stored for His children. Belief requires action to show proof, agreement simply acknowledges. Believing, knowing your identity in Christ, and understanding your value in Christ are key to staying rooted and grounded in love.
First we really need to know what the word believe really means, because it is HEAVILY misused.
Example- A mother tells a child they are going to Disney in 2 weeks, and the child proceeds to pack.
Questions: If God tells you something, do you follow up with an action to show you believe the voice you heard? Or do you ask yourself “Was that really God, or was that me?”
In order to believe, one must be ready to move accordingly with faith. Faith is needed in every step we take with God. If we are to walk in the light as He is in the light (1 John 1:7), we need to let go of self. Jesus said in order to follow Him, we MUST deny ourselves, and pick up our cross DAILY, and WALK! (Luke 9:23-24). If we do not adhere to this command daily, something else other than Jesus has our attention. When something else has our attention, we are not rooting ourselves in Him. Belief is a two way street, you either do or you don’t. Jesus gave simple explanations why He was able to do the miracles He did, and they were not hard to understand either. When the Jews sought to kill Him for doing miracles during the Sabbath, and claiming for God to be His Father, He simply replied, He can only do what He sees the Father doing (John 5:19). I mentioned belief transfers into insight, and we can clearly see Jesus had insight from God. Now many of us cop out and say, well that was Jesus, and we give ourselves permission to continue in demonic behavior. Jesus however, passes us the baton on numerous occasions, both before AND after the Cross (John 14:11-14, John 20:21, Matt 28:17-19). So let me be clear, this is not my interpretation, but this is referenced in your bible, whether it is King James, English Standard Version, etc. Jesus was the most righteous, and through Him all have been made justified and righteous (Rom 5:19). If the expectation of the righteous won’t be cut off (Prov 23:17-19), then we should all thank Jesus for His expectations of us not being cut off. What better way to show Jesus, you believe in Him, if you thank Him for His expectation of you not being cut off. So my friends, it is vital we know who we are in Christ.
Another part in staying rooted is, knowing who you are in Christ. There is nothing humble about missing the mark daily, and there is definitely nothing humble about asking for forgiveness daily after you have become born again. We are children of God and we are no longer called sinners (1 John 3:1-10). This is our identity in Christ, and we are not only to resemble Him, but we are to LIVE like Him as well (1 John 2:6). Jesus said Him, The Father, and The Holy Spirit would make their home inside those who believe in Him, and OBEY His teachings (John 14:23). The reason why some Christians think all Christians are sinners is simply because they do not believe Jesus and The Father abide in them, and thus they don’t see Jesus when they speak to another Christian. We don’t have a clear and clean image of ourselves, thus we view everyone else as such. In Luke 9:23, Jesus said to conform wholly into HIS example, which simply means imitate Him. Hell would shiver (irony lol) in fear if every believer stood strong in their right to be like Christ. Seriously, if they tremble in fear and horror at ONLY the sound of His name (James 2:19), imagine what they would do if they saw an army of Christians who know who they are? Jesus never once had an identity crisis, and after being born again, neither should we. This identity in Christ however, is NOT a pass for anyone to become high minded, and think of themselves more than children of God. In other words, don’t become arrogant in gifting, and do not lack mercy when dealing with those who still reside in darkness. There was a time you was lost, and major part of STAYING rooted in Christ, is to love, because love edifies (1 Cor 8:1). Lastly, none of us should have our assurance in our resources, but only in Him who keeps us (1 John 2:16).
To assist in our growth, we must understand our value in Christ. Although salvation is a free gift, the price paid was NOT cheap. We were all bought with a price, and it would be a shame for any of us to sell out to someone who did not make the purchase (1 Cor 7:23). We need to know that the body of Jesus was beaten beyond description on our behalf to take the image of sin, so that we may be living examples of righteousness (2 Cor 5:21). We need to know the blood of Jesus washes away ALL sin, and makes our bodies ineffective and inactive to sin (Rom 6:6). Do not let anyone deceive you, and talk you out of living for Christ on this level. When God created man, He made him in HIS likeness and image (Gen 1:27). Christ died to redeem (restore) us back into this image, and to justify us. Knowing this value in Him will assist in you staying grounded in Him. Knowing this value will make living through Him a reality, and not a religious practice.
Our roots in Christ must be firm in Him. We must believe more than we unbelieve. We cannot afford to live less than we were destined to live. God never said some things are possible, He said ALL things are possible. We cannot afford to speak as if God is far away, and not in us. I pray we all become fully grounded in Him, and live through Him, each and every day. Hope you all enjoy your weekends, and I will speak to you all soon!
ManCave: Father’s Day, Manhood, etc.
DISCLAIMER: The following post is geared towards all men in society. Although there may be a few biblical references throughout, this is for all men, and not only reserved for those in the Body. Women I love you, but this post is not at all geared towards you. Men I would advise lowering all defense mechanisms if you can, because this needs to be read with a clear and unbiased mindset. Do not take anything written personal; I’m just taking time to raise awareness, and to restore value to ourselves. Cool? COOL!
Today is June 15th, 2014, Father’s Day. I would like to say, Happy Father’s Day to every man that is a father, and our Father above. Whether you are present in your children’s lives or not, today you are celebrated. Now some reading may have a problem with me saying this, but I have one question. When you were at your worst, did people still celebrate your birthday when the day came? One person still celebrated the day you was born, even when everyone else refused to, because of how you treated them. Many only want to celebrate the good fathers, and shun the bad fathers; implying one must maintain a good rapport in order to remain a father. This may seem right and justifiable to many, but it is not at all true love for a parent.
Brothers, we have to do better and strengthen our brotherhood with integrity. If you have a child you are not taking care of, God have mercy on you. How can you show your face at work, knowing you are making enough money to provide for someone you helped create? How can you go to the club, dance and sleep with other women who are NOT your child’s mother? I would never let you off easy and strip you of that title, because you are still the father. I love all the great father figures out in the world who take up what one man did not, without any complaints. However, because you are putting in more work gives you no room to boast and to shun the ones that gave up. Hate the issue, not the person, because any man that feels these actions are okay is in fact lost. It saddens me even my Christian brothers would agree a man who does uphold his responsibilities should not be honored today. Didn’t God say “Honor your mother AND father” not “Honor your mother and father, if they did or are doing a good job.”? If you only choose to honor your father or mother because they did a good job, can you truly say you love them unconditionally? The truth is, we as men give each other passes to do the wrong thing, because we call it “respect” to not check each other repeatedly on things of this magnitude. We will be mad at each other on the low, but will keep the peace for the sake of the friendship. This truly leads me into my main topic for the day, manhood.
Today I seek to restore proper manhood in my circles, and anyone outside my circles. We need to reestablish what it means to be a man, and to truly kill the current perception. There are many things we accept and it sickens me, we are content with how we appear to the world. It sickens me you have to SEARCH for television programs that display men as strong leaders. It sickens me many of us feel it is okay to exhibit the same foolish behavior we see in our worlds. Do not respond to this in your thoughts saying “why are you going so hard on dudes for, what about women? They mess up worse than us!” My brothers, my brothers, does this not sound like “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate.” Are we still blaming women for our mishaps, and refuse to take accountability for our own actions? Men you are the ROOT to society. Read this again, YOU ARE THE ROOT TO SOCIETY. The evolution of society is geared to your wants, and desires. How can we bash women, when we are the very men who largely finance porn and prostitution industries? How can we bash women, when we fill the pockets of corporations that want your women naked and exploited for the world to see? Even if you watch it for free, it is a huge detriment to your perception of women, and what you are expecting out of women. Men, God did not make Eve to only sexually pleasure Adam. Men, God did not make Adam to be led by his second head. We were made in HIS image. We were made to rule, and make this world shine. You hold the right to dominate the atmosphere because He is you! Let’s go back to Adam for a second. Did God truly make Eve because Adam was walking through the garden, looked down, then looked up and asked God “What do I do with this?” God wanted Adam and Eve to rule together! What does this mean? We are made to marry despite physical appearance and status, and not to test drive women to find “the right one.” Please do not read that sentence as me saying marry someone you don’t find attractive lol. We are made to love our wives, and lay our lives down for them unconditionally. We are made to bring our children into this world, and raise them to do even better than us. We are to share our mishaps, and shortcomings with them, so they may conquer those same situations better than us. So when I say, I honor all fathers, it is because I know if their mentality wasn’t lost or if their manhood wasn’t counterfeited, they would not display such actions. Seems like a mountainous task for any man to uphold, right? What if I told you, it’s the Man inside of you that can easily take that load? Let’s stop being hurt and offended, and feel for the person who is in the wrong. They are the ones with the real problems that need to be dealt with. If we just focus on how this affects “ME,” will that person ever correct their wrongs? We are too focused on being receivers of love, we need to check ourselves to see how much do we contribute.
So men, we all need to do better (general statement). We need to stop looking at other women and developing fantasies in our minds. We need to stop allowing other men to raise our own if you still walk this earth in good health. Restoration would be more effective than adaptation for this world. My brothers, if you have friends, or family members who refuse to be active in their child’s life, check them on it, and get them help if they need it. If they have trouble understanding, be patient if you truly love them. I wish you all the best, and may you all have a pleasant day.
Wide Vs Narrow Gates
I originally had two paragraphs written, and then I scrapped everything because this post was not transparent enough. The topic of today is the wide and narrow gates (Matt 7:13-14), and how one can know if they have crossed the narrow, and how to walk in the narrow. I’m going to talk straight and be very transparent with this post. I’m not going to sympathize with anyone, but I’m seeking to edify everyone who decides to read this. In short, I love you all, and wish nothing but the best from God for each of you. Although the narrow and wide gates are only mentioned once in the Bible, the paths after the gates are mentioned all through the gospel. We are not going to focus on how “difficult” the narrow path is, because under the new covenant, this gate is much easier to walk through.
A common misconception is a Christian must have a hard life in order for their walk to be true. We find many scriptures that seem to show being a “true Christian” is hard work, and those who say that often do not walk in truth, but in flesh. How hard you live is not what impresses God, but it is how hard your faith is. Before anyone quotes “faith without works is dead,” be mindful the context of that scripture refers to the work of a transformed life. A transformed life speaks for itself, and consist of many works to back it up, thus such individuals walk in truth. To walk the narrow path is very simple, and all you have to do is genuinely give your life to him, while letting go EVERYTHING about yourself. We think that is a hard task, and putting off your old man was never said to be hard. Truth is, if we are not walking in the likeness of Jesus, we are walking through the wide gate. The wide gate is the epitome of considering yourself first, and seeking your own comfort over letting Him strengthen you. You can even say the wide gate is a way that seems right to a man, but it leads to destruction (Rev 14:12). Even when I became a Christian, I was still walking through the wide gate. So it takes more than religious practice to walk through the narrow gate. The way that seems right to a man is referring to human logic and wisdom, which is what the Bible instructs us to avoid (Col 2:8). Thus, it is safe to say one cannot enter the narrow gate based off emotions, but through faith. To enter the narrow gate, you must rid yourself completely of a sin consciousness, and believe you can do all the things Jesus did. This will also allow you to say “Hold up! This isn’t the right way; the narrow gate is the Way!” Once you can see this, you live with a renewed mind (a Godly attitude). When you are renewed in Christ, He abides in you forever. If He abides in you forever, is anything too difficult for God (Gen 18:14, Ex 4:11, Jerm 32:27)?
CAUTION: Do not become cynical and feel you have the right to decide if someone is a true Christian or not. If you have the audacity to condemn another, rather than build another, you are deceived, and need to repent. I know this was off topic, but I felt the need to put this here.
So now I feel we should speak on how to walk through the narrow gate (I feel this is something we all truly desire lol). In order to walk through the narrow gate, you must shed your old man, and take on the new man (Eph 4:22-24). To be real, you cannot go through that narrow gate with your former life, because your former life is self-conscious of your own life. This is not your own fault, and it came from Adam’s disobedience when he ate from the tree. Notice how after Adam and Eve ate from the tree they became VERY self conscious of themselves (Gen 3:6-11). So can we agree being self conscious is of the fall, and not at all of God? Jesus is not a liar, He said only a few will find this gate (Matt 7:14). If we observe the body of Christ in 2014, many of us are VERY self conscious. We are self conscious in speaking to others about Christ, or even walking like He did. Jesus constantly discouraged people from following Him because He did not people to follow Him for the benefits, over the good of mankind. After His death, He made crossing the gate much easier by allowing the Holy Spirit to dwell in those who take on the likeness of Him. Jesus mentioned and demonstrated numerous times, He could only do the things He saw His Father doing, meaning he was God conscious (John 5:19). We shoot ourselves in the foot by trying to complicate the simplicity of the Gospel, because we are more concerned with applying over becoming the Word. A great way to become the Word is to understand why Jesus died. He did not die because we were sinners; He died to take away all sin. You CANNOT believe you’re a Christian and still believe you’re a sinner. That is a LIE from the pits of hell and it should not at all be attached to your identity. The Bible goes over this a lot, and I mentioned this in my other post, but I’ll quote a different scripture.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
If you are a born again Christian, you are righteous, and not at all a sinner. There is NOTHING humbling about being a sinner, NOTHING! Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise, is a LIAR! If anyone ask you “Yeah well are you saying you’re perfect?” simply reply “Why would you allow my life to speak louder than truth?” We need to understand this in order to walk through the narrow gate gracefully. How can you love your neighbor as yourself, if you can’t look at yourself as clean and justified before God? How can we quote scriptures saying we died to sin, but still say “we’re sinners saved by grace?” When Jesus instructed us to love each other as we love ourselves, and do unto to others as we would want to ourselves, it was to kill the sin in each other, not enable it. If I had to choose someone that was of the flesh, but would transition well into the spirit and walk the narrow path, I would choose a gym rat. Gym rats undergo many uncomfortable exercises with immense zeal, knowing the final product is worth so much more than what they are going through at the moment. They are not discouraged by the discomfort, and in fact many rejoice in it because they know the results are showing. With any exercise, the more you do it, the easier it gets. Many of us do not partake in the spiritual exercises because we are intimidated by how it looks, which is a sure sign of the fall. We have to understand, God is in US, and not waiting for us to come see Him at Bible study, or at Church. We would have a better personal connection with God if we could be alone to seek Him privately, and then join together in fellowship to truly stir each other up in good works (Heb 10:24). When you know God is inside of you, partaking in these exercises will be joyful, and walking the narrow path will be easier. I would like to conclude with the fact we need a personal and daily relationship with God. We cannot for a second think we can live the same as we did before God convicted our heart. We cannot afford to say “God knows my heart” to commit a willful sin. We cannot look at ANYONE as an inconvenience, but more so as an opportunity to manifest the love of God before them. My friends, is the path after the narrow gate. My friends, this leads to life.
How to Keep Fighting
1 Peter 3:15
but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
On this rainy afternoon, I wanted to write a post to encourage those who are in need. Once again, this is a post open to everybody, but I will be sharing truth that is from a Godly perspective. If we observe the above verse (I encourage you to read the whole chapter), we will see the Bible already implies a Christian will have earthly struggles. This verse implies everything will not always be okay, but it does not matter because Christ is bigger and inside of you. It is NOT healthy to only pursue God for prosperity, blessings, and a better status. You will always come to God as needy, and will not understand the power God has already ordained in you. Can I be real? If we say we love and believe in God, but behave and react to circumstances to someone who does not, where is the power in that? God is not an enabler, and He will not bless you with your wants if you only use “in Jesus name” for your own gain. He does not care how much scripture you will bring to your defense, He will just ask did you meet the conditions he required. Forgive me, but I must throw a challenge. If you are forever seeking prestige, is the love of God truly in you? I will be honest enough to say that last question was my life for the longest time. I can easily share these things now, because I have nothing to hide, and my vision of God is a lot bigger than my past. I’m not here to sympathize, but to help you come to a life changing revelation.
First we must understand we are not Christians for better access to our desires. You were made in His image and a little less than the angels (Gen 1:26, Ps 8:4-6). I feel many of us hear that, but do not receive that. We do not mediate on that one word alone, and understand how powerful it really is. If we understood how powerful that is, we would never have a bad day in life ever again. Nobody would ever have power to produce sin in us to make us less than what we were called to be. We are called to subdue the Earth, which means the Earth will not go down without a fight. The only way you can subdue the Earth is by walking in truth. For when you walk in truth you allow for all to be well with you, including your health and your soul (3 John 1:1-4). Mind you, this is not a promise, but a prayer John made to those who walk in truth. We have to train our hearts to not look for blessings in scripture, and to look to be like Him above all else. The devil is on a 24/7 clock to lie to you, everyone around you, and your social networks to distort your image of God. If he can distort your image of the Father, then he has already won, because you will never do what you are called to do effectively. A popular way the devil has distorted God’s image is making Him look like a sugar daddy. God is not handing out blessings to enable trifling behavior. If anything God gives blessings to the ungodly to make them focus on Him and not themselves. I wrote in my last post saying many Christians will live in darkness, just to fit in their environment. Not to poke fun, but Jesus paid that light bill millenniums ago lol. The Christ in you is the hope this world needs, and not Obama. No shots made, but that Hope campaign shows many of us are looking for Hope in all the wrong places. Imagine we were able to find that hope in each other daily? It is NOT of God for you to accept your flaws, and say this is how He made me. Jesus said “be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect.”(Matt. 5:48). We are not teaching our neighbors who are not saved, who God is by quoting scripture. We need to teach them how to be obedient and loving to God in the midst of struggle. Then when blessings do come (because they do), they will see the love of God in you, and never the additives. In order to keep fighting, you have to be ready to let go of your old lives, and live renewed (Eph 4:22-24). Do not fear being called a hypocrite, and try to make your growth look gradual. You are not living to impress man, but to impress God, meaning you should desire speed growth. God is doing it, trust it will be sustained no matter how fast or slow the growth is.
I asked a real question on twitter today. Do you love God, or do you love who He is? What I mean by this is simply, do you love God unconditionally, or do you love what He can do for you? Don’t answer that one out loud lol! I asked because, most of us have been taught earthly love, before Godly love. If we are honest, earthly love is very conditional, and it’s based on what you can do for each other, and we bring that into Christianity. Godly love on the other hand asks for nothing in return, and it even lays down its life for another. Earthly love is not selfless, and seeks a benefit to sustain it. Let me ask that first question using a different example to prove my point. Do you love your spouse, or do you love who they are? Can you see how dangerous it is to love who God is over God Himself? If we loved God and desired only to be like Him, everything else would truly become worthless, and then your life becomes 1 Peter 3:15. People will not be able to comprehend how you can have hope and peace in the midst of struggle. You want to carry that hope and peace daily, no matter how good or bad things may look. A bad circumstance does not mean you’re a bad Christian or are doing things wrong. You are God’s greatest creation who is viewed as holy. You cannot afford to say “I’ll take forever to reach this”, because that implies inadequacy, and that cannot be found in heaven, so why do you allow it on earth? That also implies you will always have tomorrow to try, and we are in the days where today can be the last for all of us. You are to represent Christ, and not let the ills of the earth produce in you anything less than Christ. Be very careful that you do not measure God’s power to those around you; because it shows you seek your identity from them and not Him. Read your bible to become what it says you are, not just quote what it says you are. You are destined to be the change people need in this world, by the strength of God in you. You have to be ready to surrender how the world tells you to think, and even surrender what is socially acceptable. Do not be scared to show you worship God. If people only know you go to church and quote scriptures, what can they learn from that? If you can free yourself from yourself, you will never be a slave to how you feel. You cannot desire to hold on what Christ died for, and that’s your earthly rights. Your earthly rights will say, “I can’t trust so-so ever again” or “He killed my family, I have the right to be upset!” When being like Jesus would cry FOR the murderer, because they have no clue of whom they are called to be like. I want to close with this. As a kid, my mother gave me a keychain that said WWJD, and it was one of the first lessons she ever told me about Jesus. I never took it seriously until about a month ago. You probably heard that phrase as a kid too, and it’s so innocent, yet incredibly profound. How many lives would be changed if we truly stopped and asked ourselves, what would Jesus do? To those who are in uncomfortable situations, just keep praising God, because he’s right there next to you, and He always will be.
My last two post were for mainly believers, and now I want to write for both believers and unbelievers. Because of that, I will not be quoting scripture, but I trust I’m not speaking with the flesh. True Christianity is only represented at about 1-10% by the Christians of today. I am not taking shots, but I’m speaking on something that is very agreeable. The majority of Christians are not walking like Jesus, and I’ll dare to say they are walking more like Pharisees. You may think that is a mighty bold statement, but I’ll challenge anyone reading to confess they believe they can walk just like Christ. If the majority says no, my hypothesis has been proven. If the majority feels they will always mess up, my hypothesis is proven. If the majority worries and doubts in the face of adversity, my hypothesis is proven. Please, do not get offended, because this is not to offend you in any way. To be a Christian means you are like Christ, and that’s it. You as a believer cannot afford to be skeptic about that last sentence. In this post, I want to address believers, unbelievers, and both collectively.
To my fellow believers, some of us have been deceived. Some us feel we are nothing but sinners, and we are to plead forgiveness to God. We throw out clichés like “Sinners saved by Grace” or “A Saint is just a sinner who fell down and got up.” NO!!!! THIS IS NOT CHRISTIANITY! A saint is a saint, and a sinner is a sinner, THAT’S IT! Don’t call me a liar if you didn’t check your Bible. This in itself is so detrimental, because we set ourselves up for unbelief if we practice this. I say “we” because this affects all of us, and it’s unfruitful to point fingers and say “well this is not about me, so I’ll ignore it.” To you that believe, if you don’t walk what you quote, you better not expect a following. I’m not being mean, I’m keeping it 100, because people are not idiots. They know you don’t truly believe what you quote, and write you off as a help guru who thinks they know life, but can’t help yourself. Check this out: If you’re quick to tell someone how they are going to hell and need to get their act together, why would they even follow you? In fact you reveal you and God aren’t on good terms. Chances are you only tell someone they are going hell because you have a habitual sin dwelling in you, and fear God is going to send you there. So like a crab in a barrel, you try to bring others down with you. That may sound harsh, but it is not to condemn you, but to guide your heart to truth. If you are quick to get offended by me not pulling any punches, I ask you to please do not look at it like that. My life is not better than yours, and I’m speaking to you as a brother. If we are quick to condemn ourselves and others (which is not of God), why would a non-believer want that? If we freak out in the face of adversity, why would a non-believer want that? If we could only smile when our barns are full, why would a non-believer want that? We try to get people to become saved, and teach them about God, rather than be the living example of our greatest role model. You think Jesus had to ask anyone to follow Him? *pause* (This is where I say this isn’t my flesh writing, please read that question again). He is a living miracle that lives in us! So why do we treat Him like the new shoes we never wear, but just stare and worship? You weren’t created to tell people about Jesus, you were created to SHOW He lives! You weren’t created to have problems with anyone; you were created to love your neighbor as yourself. We need to take on our true identities so that someone who does not believe may see an undeniable truth of God before their very eyes. Imagine if every believer walked and replicated Christ, believing the signs and wonders shall follow them as well. We need to know God purified our hearts, so that we can walk holy, blameless and above reproach. Free your heart from all unforgiveness towards anybody you know, because God wants you to see the truth. This isn’t a rant, but a family meeting I felt the need to conduct. I want to bring a stronger awareness of God’s perception of us, because many of us do not know and are deceived.
To the unbelievers, I stand before you and apologize for the misrepresentation you have witnessed within Christianity. However, what Jesus stood for is not at all what you may perceive Him to be. If you think He is a made up character by humans for a good bedtime story, you are wrong, and I will never apologize for that. Christianity is more than a belief system, honor code, or anything less than the deliverance of this world.
As you see I have a lot more to say towards the believer, rather than the unbeliever. For if all believers believe, the number of unbelievers would drop drastically. The problem is, many of us believe in the lie we have to blend in to be socially acceptable to society. Have you ever heard the phrase “Who turn on the darkness?” Sounds ridiculous doesn’t it? So why are so many Christians who have His Light in them, shutting it off to blend in the dark? Turn on your light, and what is exposed to the light, becomes light. Sounds VERY simple, right? THEN WHY ARE WE COMPLCATING THIS!? Why are we making Christianity like some pyramid scheme where you sign up people to sign up even more people, for a self-serving benefit?! Someone with good intellect will see through this, and validate ALL of Christianity as one big scam, and then what? Do not say, “the power of God is the one that saves, not us. “ While that IS VERY TRUE, YOU could have positioned the heart to be saved, because His power is in you. Do not embrace human logic and reasoning to say you have a long way to go in Christ. Peter chopped off the ear of Malchus when they arrested Jesus, and then became one of the writers of the Gospel. So don’t limit yourself based on your own logic and wisdom. Call on God to give you strength. I dare anyone to tell me, He will deny those desiring that type of blessing. So I would like to close with: believers, you are more than what you give yourself credit for. Jesus has delegated all power and authority over the heaven and earth to you. Why don’t we believe that, instead of giving power to lies, and the father of lies? Why don’t we believe, just because Jesus told us to? He loves you, and He will never leave nor forsake you. Guess what? He said this, and not me! That’s what makes this awesome, because this isn’t me trying to sell anything. So I say this, dare to believe God looks at you now as if you never sinned (if you’re born again), and you can live without trying not to sin. Dare to believe, you can illuminate the lives of those living in the dark without using your own strengths. So with that, I want to close with simple sentence. You are a good tree that will always produce good fruit, and will never need to work hard to produce good fruit.
As this Resurrection Sunday draws to a close, I felt the need to share what is on my mind this evening. Before you read any further I want you to do the following: use the bathroom, get something to eat/drink, prepare for notes & get your Bible, (You should get your Bible and notes) or go get some air because this is going to be a long one. Also, if you are not a Christian, or have no interest in taking this post and applying it after you read it, please x-screen now. I do not intend to alienate, but if you desire to read anyway, by all means :). Today I want to touch on what Christians need to understand about the resurrection of Christ, and what it truly means to follow Him. I’ve had conversations with people, and I have seen the thoughts of others throughout the year regarding this. It seems on Resurrection Sunday, everyone takes the Holy pill to behave accordingly. Not that we shouldn’t celebrate an awesome day like today, but we should know why we are celebrating.
First, we need to understand this: There is a difference between truth, and tradition. Truth says, Christ died for our sins, and we are allowed to become one with the Father again. Tradition says, gather together weekly so that we may encounter Him for a moment in our lives. Now before anyone gets offended, I’m not against people going to the sanctuary to fellowship, in fact I’m for that. We are to stir each other up in love and good works (Heb 10:24), so you will hear no opposition from me there. However, we are not to go to the sanctuary to seek God, but rather a secret place (Ps 91:1, Matt 6:6). This is the danger of mixing tradition with truth, and people on the outside looking in will see the contradictions (they read the Bible too). I don’t say this to offend, but you cannot live like hell through the week, and go to the sanctuary on Sunday to be “holy.” This hypocrisy is not only bad, but it is deadly to anyone who is NOT a believer. They look at OUR lives for VALIDATION, and the moment we contradict the scriptures we quote, or choose not to give our lives to Christ, they assume ALL Christians must be like this. When we try to inject tradition into the Word of God, we endanger tainting the truth with worldly principles. So what is truth? Truth is the substance the Devil is TERRIFIED of any Christian to have, because with it we are free (John 8:32). With truth, he is POWERLESS, and can do NOTHING to you (Heb 2:14), and he can only lie to you.
Here is the problem. Many of us believe in the lies of devil with our hearts, and know the word of God with our brains. So we have KNOWLEDGE of the truth, but we don’t walk as if it’s true. A lie is the purest form of oppression, and I hate to say it, prayer won’t destroy that. The way God has intended us to destroy that is to walk in truth, because these are nothing but strongholds (2 Cor 10:3-5). Not walking in truth allows for one to be a pushover to a powerless devil, who for the most part is trolling you. Many things in your life are not demonic controlled, when it’s really a case of Christians not understanding who they are, and what the truth is. Truth: Jesus did not die for us to still KEEP sin in our lives. Tradition: You are sinners saved by grace, and you’ll probably sin today, but ask for forgiveness, and it’ll be ok. Sidenote: “Sinners saved by grace” is a cliché that is nowhere located in the Bible. In fact the only reference to that is found in Eph 2:8, but if we read the entire chapter for context, we will see preceding this verse, Paul explained where we ONCE were. He emphasized on the fact no one can say they came to Christ on their own (which can be found in John 6:44). This does not in any way imply you are still sinners. So we do not have a free pass to let loose and wild out daily, weekly, monthly, or any continual notion to sin. However, if you’re still with me, I’ll tell you what we do have the pass for.
We have the pass to be like Christ. Some do not like hearing this because to some it is heresy to even mention your name that close to Jesus. However, Jesus said himself we shall do the same works He did, and EVEN greater works, only IF we believe in Him (John 14:12). So there is nothing wrong with being like Him, in fact it’s what you’re supposed to do (Rom 12:2). Do you know what happens when you allow God to transform your mind? You are restored to how Adam and Eve were BEFORE they ate from the tree (eph 1:7, titus 2:14, Gal 4:5). If we look deeper, this is before diseases came, this is before anger, hate, malice came (Col 3:8), which leads me to say THIS is the resurrection Jesus desired. He desired for us to be restored back to our original value, and we have proof of that on the cross (Luke 23:34). The question is now raised, do YOU believe in this as truth? If ANY of this is doubtful to you, then you have given the world a pass to rain hell on you. That will also raise the question; do you truly love and trust God as much as you say you do? Now I’m not writing this to call anyone out, but to encourage us to walk in truth. Prayer has MANY great purposes, but without walking and believing in truth we will never be free (John 8:31-36).
The true resurrection of a Christian is not worried about filling up church buildings, but more so, loving mankind as God loved mankind. If God gives you mercy, you are to show mercy. If God gives you grace, you are to show grace. If God forgives you, and does not take account of your wrongs, you are to do the same. We can’t say “Christ is in me,” but take in account what someone did to us in the past. In fact, Jesus described this in a parable, and the person who does not forgives when forgiven, is nothing but a wicked servant (Matt 18:21-35). We are to practice love for one another with a renewed heart. To follow Jesus is much more than repeating a prayer, but it is to deny yourself, and pick up your cross daily. We can’t use the cop out “well I’m not Jesus,” because it only lets people know we do not read or understand our Bibles. Picking up your cross means you are bearing the weight for those around you who are in dire need of a physical manifestation of God’s love. We cannot walk as if we are defeated, when the truth says we are more than a conquers (Rom 8:37). The true resurrection is explained in its simplest form by this scripture “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”(2 Cor 5:17)
The problem with the world is too many Christians are too self-driven, and have no true concern for anyone else. If we wait until we are rich to be a blessing to someone, it will NEVER be an act of love. We can work normal jobs, and be an incredible life changing blessing to someone else. Also, we need to lose the mentality “if you don’t do as I say, you’re wrong and you’re going to Hell.” Real rap, who does that really help? Does that person ignore you, or follow you out of legalism and not love? We are enabled to love others, as Christ loved us, because mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13). So in reality, if any of us has not, we have to give our lives to Christ. Only then, will this start to become 2nd nature to us. I’m not saying repeat the sinners prayer, I’m saying give your life to Him, and be prepared to do everything expected of you when you do. When times of suffering occur, REJOICE! (Rom 5:3-5) This is the difference between those who serve God, and those who uphold worldly traditions. If you do not rejoice in suffering, you do not get the product of endurance. Without endurance, character is not produced, without character, hope is not produced, and without hope, we are put to shame. To abide in Christ means freedom from Sin, bearing much fruit, doing His will for your life, and loving one another (John 15:1-7, 1 John 3:6). I would like to close with stating, this can be you. We can be a generational change for our families, circle of friends, communities, and so on if we truly embraced this. It’s not all about us, because if Jesus held that mentality, He would have dropped the cross, and walked away like “FORGET Y’ALL!” I wanted this post to be more of a study/calling, which is why I emphasized scripture a lot. I wanted to show and prove this is not at all my idea, and show what God says about us. I hope everyone enjoyed their day, and may all of you have a blessed week.
On this beautiful Palm Sunday afternoon, I feel led to write about something that is crucial to every Christian’s life. Through conversations with friends, family, associates, etc. I am noticing many Christians are not fully aware of who they are. It is almost common to hear, “everybody is a sinner” or “I am no saint.” For the longest time, I was victim to this as well. The truth is, many of us do not know our true identities. Some even believe everyone sins every day, but since we have God’s grace, we can pray for forgiveness before we sleep, and when we wake up. Not to step on anyone’s shoes, but that is man’s wisdom & experience, and not at all of God. I do not want you to take my word for this, so let me show you what God says about you.
1 John 3:4-10 - Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. 8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s[b] seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. 10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.
There are more scriptures in Colossians, Romans, and so on that show a Child of God is NOT a sinner. “Holier than Thou” is a phrase from the Devil to discourage those who are genuine in their walk with Christ. It is a phrase used to make a Christian RELATE with the rest of the world rather than CHANGE the rest of the world. “Do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” is not at all a mental exercise/effort. It is strictly a notion of faith, showing God you want to submit your life to Him. Having a relationship with God does not mean you will never have trials and tribulations ever again, but it means you are empowered to conquer them. If you are born again, know that God is WITH you at ALL times. Please, do not dilute Jesus dying on the cross, by selling your value short. Please understand you can improve your walk as soon as today. God never said it would be hard for us to give up ourselves to Him, so why do we make it out to be? Letting go of old ways does not have to take years, months, or days…so why do we make it out to be? If the second coming is unknown even to man, then God surely made it possible for man to fully submit to Him in the same day. Old things pass, all things new can be a reality, but only if you want it to be. Don’t let the Devil talk you out of your identity. “Repent for your sins” is not crying to God like a day-time tv soap opera. Repentance is simply a revelation that forever changes the way you think about something, that’s all.
Another identity crisis issue I have noticed over the years is some of us feeling “we are not worth it.” Let’s think on something. 1 Corin 7:23 says “God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.” If we were not worth it, would He have paid the price? Some think redemption is just church language to say we are going to Heaven, when really it means we are restored back to the original value of our creation (Adam & Eve before the fruit on the tree). Science has given you the studies and findings, of a fallen man, not a born again man. Grace does not give you free passage to stay the same as you are. Once again, this is not to show you have a long way to go, nor does it mean I’m far ahead of you. In fact, I’m speaking to the value I know you were created to be.
Not to get off topic, but never become self righteous towards other believers AND unbelievers. Do not become high minded where you discourage people from ever taking Jesus and the Gospel seriously. Unbelievers do not take Christianity seriously because they feel alienated rather than welcomed. They are bombarded with your fears of Hell to the point you make Devil sound just like the Boogyman bedtime stories…and most-to-all bed time stories are Fiction…so, it’s no secret why people choose to never come. Instead of telling someone who does not believe in God they are going to Hell, give them some food, a hug, and tell them God loves them with NO STRINGS ATTACHED.
The shedding of Jesus’s blood REMOVED your sin, and that’s the ONLY thing that can remove your sin. Once your sin is removed and you become that new creature, let go of anger, complaints, gossips, and whatever that can lead you back to sin. If you hear a voice in your head telling you “you just can’t make these changes overnight,” ask yourself is that God or the Devil talking to you? I’ll give you a hint, Bible says you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you. If you’re born again, that does mean He’s in you, right lol? You are empowered to have a new and great perspective on life which enables you to never have a bad day again. That may seem like a reach to some, but to the people who are following me this far, Did Jesus think it was a bad day to shed is blood for us? I normally don’t write this much for blog post, but I know this will positively affect the lives of others, and encourage those who are walking for Christ. Take more private time to pray to God in secret away from others. Take more time to learn about Him, and build your relationship with Him. Know that He is ordering your steps, and He loves you. It is NOT His will for you to be angry, depressed, ashamed, and most of all deceived. Not every affliction on your life is demonic, sometimes things happen, and no matter what, God deserves genuine praise. Not a forced praise, but a genuine loving praise because you don’t love your own life onto death. It’s not about you and your breakthroughs, or you and your blessings. Know your value, my friends.
Easter is next Sunday, and I feel many of us should know the truth behind the Cross. I’m not going to sit back and assume preachers will reveal this next Sunday, when I am empowered to touch those who are willing to read. So even if they don’t preach about this, you can still be fed. People can become very cynical about post like these, and that’s fine. There is nothing wrong with them, and they should not be looked at any less. Remember, there was a time when you yourself didn’t believe, even when it was placed blatant in your face, and God did not love you any less. No one is higher than anyone else, we all have a created value, and some take longer to find this out. It should be your desire for them to find out before you get that new gadget you’ve been praying for. I hope this can bless someone this week, and free someone of living in bondage. I hope someone can get their rightful identity back, and fearlessly live for God from here on. Be daring this week. Do not be afraid of dark places, because you have a light in you that can illuminate those places. Be blessed, and take care.
